Making Your Model Solid Open SketchUp Create two separate grouped objects: Click on a Groupand open the Entity Windowby clicking Window>Entity Info. After bringing it into a new file, exploding it and remaking it, I got it to behave normally. Click on your model and open Window>Entity Info. Once you have that added to your object you should be good to go, you may want to adjust some settings such as Use Gravity, Mass, etc. If you make your object into a group or component, Sketchup will let you know if it's solid by opening the Entity Infodialog box. Move/Rotate the object-group and/or the face-group so that the face is on the plane of the cut. Make a large rectangular face and group that too. this can be done by dragging and droping or by having the object selected and clicking the "Component" menue at the top of the screen the main ones your looking for are under Physics, choose either CharacterController or Rigidbody Group the object you want to cut make it a component if there'll ever be more than one of them. After all, the Pro Solid Tools did not exist yet, and no one even knew that SketchUp was considering. This tool provided an inexpensive way to perform some basic boolean operations and worked with both SketchUp Make (free) or Pro. This will make an empty Prefab "GameObject" and you can add various componets to it including your mesh, scripts etc. Works with nested solids Does not create new components The original component is modified as expected. To create a prefab simply right click on the folder in your project view where you would like it to live (dont worry you can move it around later) select Create > Prefab ![]()
